These problem are due Thursday, Feb. 28.

Week 6: We continue Sturm-Liouville problems and possibly start Chapter 7, higher dimensional PDEs. Read Chapters 5 and 7 from the text. Solutions for HW2 are available (courtesy Benedikt Kramps).
HW Assignment #6: 5.6.1, 5.8.3, 5.8.5 (for b numerically find first 5 e.v.s with h = -1 and L = 1), 5.8.8 (for c numerically find first 5 e.v.s), 5.8.11, 5.10.1.
These problem are due Thursday, Mar. 6.

Week 7: If there are any graduating seniors in class, then you are encouraged to participate in a survey that can be accessed by logging on to Math or Math Stat advising at Blackboard. This is important for future students majoring in Math. We begin Chapter 7, higher dimensional PDEs and Bessel's Differential Equation, so read Chapter 7 from the text. Solutions for HW3 (courtesy Stefanie Reichart) and Solutions for HW4 (courtesy Tina Bauer) are available.
