Grade Information

The grades are computed by adding all graded Labs and doubling the grades of the Lab Exams with a weight of 34%, then the Lecture portion of the grade is a weighted average of the HW scores and the sum of the Exams and the Final. Note that the Exam scores combine your written lecture exams from class and the 20 point problem from WebWork starting your lab exams. The grades are typically based on 85-100 is an A, 73-85 is a B, 62-73 is a C, 50-62 is a D, and below 50 is an F. Typically, minuses and pluses are given within 3% of the boundaries, but they may reflect a particularly low or high score on the final exam (relative to classmates in the same grade category). The instructor considers the comprehensive final exam especially important in deciding the final grade, as this exam reflects what a student has learned in the course. Anyone receiving a score less than 50% on the Final will not obtain a grade higher than a C-.
